C/2017 K1 PANSTARRS
more info
Comet C/2017 K1 was discovered on 21 May 2017 with Pan-STARRS 1 telescope (Haleakala), that is about 10 months before its perihelion passage. Next, three pre-discovery measurements were found going back to 1 September 2015. This comet was observed until 27 May 2019.

Comet had its closest approach to the Earth on 29 April 2018 (6.286 au), about 1.5 months after its perihelion passage.

The preferred solution given here is based on data spanning over 3.73 yr in a range of heliocentric distances: 9.28 au – 7.29 au (perihelion) – 7.80 au.

This Oort spike comet suffers tiny planetary perturbations during its passage through the planetary system that likely lead to a bit tighter future orbit (see future barycentric orbits).
